Who Should Register?
Novice Riders (level 2) are comfortable riding mountain bikes on green trails and have developed basic trail-riding skills. Riders should be able to manage climbs, descents, corners, small trail obstacles, and longer rides without assistance. This group is ideal for riders who are looking to build confidence, improve fundamental skills, and begin progressing toward more technical blue trails. Camp activities will focus primarily on green and easier blue trails, with an emphasis on braking, cornering, body position, climbing, descending, and trail awareness.
Intermediate Riders (level 3) are confident and independent on most blue trails and are beginning to explore more technical terrain. Riders should be comfortable with varied trail surfaces, steeper climbs and descents, roots, rocks, and trail features commonly found on blue trails. This group will focus on refining technical skills, improving efficiency and speed, and developing the confidence to ride blue and easier black trails safely and effectively.
What to Bring
Participants should come prepared for an active morning on the trails:
-
-
- A well-maintained mountain bike
- A properly fitted helmet
- Gloves, knee pads, and sunglasses are recommended
- Water and snacks appropriate for the day
- Clothing suitable for the weather conditions
- Sunscreen and any personal items required for the ride
- Please note that summer riding conditions are typically warm to hot, so riders should plan accordingly and bring plenty of water.
-
Coaching Team
Our camps are led by OSMBC’s Senior Elite Club Riders who have received coaching certification and leadership training through GSMBC programs. Coaches provide a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment while helping riders progress at their own pace.
Whether your rider is just beginning their mountain biking journey or looking to tackle more advanced trails, our summer camps offer the perfect opportunity to learn new skills, make friends, and explore the trails in a fun and supportive setting.
Group Placement
We aim to offer separate girls’ and boys’ riding groups whenever possible. With sufficient registration numbers (minimum of 6 riders per group), girls will ride with female coaches and boys will ride with male coaches. If minimum enrollment numbers are not met, riders may be combined into mixed groups to ensure a fun, high-quality experience and appropriate coach-to-rider ratios.
Cancellation Policy
Registrations cancelled more than 48 hours before the start of camp are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations received within 48 hours of the camp start date will receive a credit that can be applied toward a future OSMBC program. No refunds or credits will be issued once camp has begun.
